bizarre
not what i expected at all, a little disjointed and off the wall, however if you have the staying power a memorable piece of animated cinema. Some bizarre and weird imagery that will surely keep you scratching your head for long after you have seen the movie. You will never look at the cyclist quite the same again.... or grandma for that matter! - Clinton , posted 06/07/07

Kept me glued to my chair
I found this to be a wonderfully visual and audio adventure. You didn't need to know another language to enjoy it or spend half your time reading subtitles. It just sucks you right in and holds you hostage (I mean that in the best possible way). Very enjoyable. - Bruce , posted 10/14/05

TOB = :)
"Triplets" is one of those rare films that creates a unique world on its own terms, and has an inspired soundtrack to match its every scene, which is even rarer. (of course I had to buy the soundtrack) Wonderful characters linger with you, and extremely creative silliness abounds. Even the animated dog in this movie has more emotional range than most Hollywood actors!

It's probably not for everyone, but probably for almost everyone... - andymouse , posted 09/27/05

Love it!
I bought the DVD and I don't do that much.

This film transcends spoken words and has a real good time. - Ruby , posted 07/25/05

triplets of belleville
The friend who took see this movie told me "it's an anime and there are no dialogs".
Sounded so boring.

And I loved it. It's absurd and poetic. It's really good. And the New Yorkish city, the frog fishing... liked it all.

Geriatric jocularity! Sublime senile suspense!
By far the most unique piece of animation I've seen from ANY country in a very long time. The storyline stubbornly refuses to follow any preconcieved notions--- refreshing ingenuity! So ugly they're cute, the sisters take you from smiles, to grins and giggles. **** BRAVO *** - L , posted 04/30/05

I really love this movie
Loved it. Being a big fan of improvised music in general, I found this movie wonderful and I've seen it 3 times now. Go check it out and get your "joie de vivre" on! - Unsubscribed , posted 04/12/05

What about the story?
Great piece of drawing. Story doesn't really go anywhere unfortunately. I was looking forward to this animation because of the typically french drawing style coming from the world of the french comics. Unfortunately it doesn't compare with the comics it might be inspired from. - mad , posted 04/08/05

Equal parts Betty Boop, Tati and Josephine Baker.
An absolute delight of a movie worth every bit of the hype, The Triplets of Belleville is done with almost no dialogue. It is an homage to the classic days of animation, the 30's,and the great music from that period that has time and time again proven an inspiration to Woody Allen. With Equal parts Betty Boop, Jacques Tati and Josephine Baker, the Triplets tells the story of a woman whose grandson has been kidnapped by the French mafia during the Tour de France. Along with her oversized (and immensely entertaining) dog, she sets out to find and rescue him...along with the help of the Triplets of Belleville. - Unsubscribed , posted 08/31/04

speeding up
I love the way it starts out really slowly and picks up speed as it goes. It creates a nice flow that many other movies lack. - General , posted 08/01/04
